Staff Selection Commission recruits candidates to posts of Junior Engineer including specializations in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts for various Ministries and Departments in the Government of India. Every year SSC JE recruits candidates to 18 different posts in various departments across India. Staff selection commission has planned to conduct examination for eight posts in the year 2020. SSC has released the examination dates for three of the posts which will be conducted in the month of October and November 2020. The exam dates of the remaining five posts will be announced on 22 September 2020.

SSC JE Eligibility 2020 – Age Limit, Qualifications
Before applying to the post of SSC JE we need to check if we are eligible to the post. Let us check in detail the following four areas that has to be satisfied before we consider eligible to the post
- Nationality
- Age Limit

- Qualification
1. SSC JE – Nationality
The candidate must be either a
- Citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to permanently settle in India or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Note: For candidates other than citizen of India and falling under the rest of categories mentioned above has to present a certificate of eligibility by Government of India.

Note: Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as filled by them in the online Application Form will be treated as final and any request for change in the DoB will not be entertained by the Commission under any circumstances. For proof of Date of Birth, only Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission at the time of Document Verification.

- The posts where experience is required, such experience must be acquired by the candidates after completing educational qualification as specified for the concerned post.
- Internship, training, research experience, etc gained in the course of acquiring an educational qualification will not be counted as experience.
- As per UGC (Open and Distance Learning) Regulations, 2017 the programmes in engineering are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.
