Kerala PSC LD Typist Eligibility Criteria 2025

The selection for the post of Lower Division Typist will be made through Direct Recruitment.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 36 years of age. Only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. Age relaxation is available for candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities (OBC) and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) as per existing government norms.

Note:
Provisional employees currently working in the concerned institutions are eligible for age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years, provided they were within the prescribed age limit at the time of their first appointment. A certificate showing the period of provisional service (stating that the service is not part of regular service) must be produced when required. However, regular employees of the institutions are not eligible for this concession.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

1. Pass in SSLC or its equivalent.
2. Typewriting Malayalam (Lower) KGTE or equivalent.
3. Typewriting English (Lower) KGTE and Computer Word Processing or equivalent.

Important Notes:

• Those who passed KGTE Typewriting before January 2002 must also produce a separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or its equivalent.
• Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR applies.
• Qualifications recognized by executive or standing government orders as equivalent/higher than those prescribed will also be accepted, provided they imply the acquisition of the lower qualification required for the post. Candidates must produce copies of such government orders when asked by the Commission.

Kerala PSC LD Typist Recruitment 2025 – Selection Process

The selection to the post of Lower Division Typist will be made through Direct Recruitment based on the rules and procedures of the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC). The eligible candidates will be selected through an online examination conducted by KPSC. The selection process will be done through the following rounds.

Kerala PSC LD Typist Probation Period

The probation period will be as per the Special Rules of the concerned Government-owned Company, Corporation, or Board where the candidate is appointed. The ranked list of selected candidates will remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum of three years, or until a new list is published after the minimum period, whichever comes earlier.

The Kerala Public Service Commission has the authority to cancel the advice for appointment if it’s later found that such advice was issued by mistake. In such cases, the candidate’s service will be terminated within the probation period or 240 days from the date of joining, whichever is earlier.

Kerala PSC LD Typist Recruitment 2025 – How to Apply

Candidates interested in applying for the post of Lower Division Typist must complete the application process online through the official website of the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) – www.keralapsc.gov.in.

1. One Time Registration (OTR):

   • New applicants must register under the One Time Registration system before applying.

   • During registration, upload a recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months) with the candidate’s name and date of the photograph clearly printed at the bottom.

   • Once uploaded correctly, the photo will remain valid for 10 years.

2. Profile Login and Application Submission:

   • Registered candidates can log in using their User ID and Password.

   • After logging in, click on the ‘Apply Now’ button for the relevant post in the Notification section.

   • Ensure that all personal and academic details entered are correct before final submission.

   • No application fee is required.

   • After submission, the application is provisional and cannot be altered or deleted.

   • Keep a printout or soft copy of the submitted application for future reference.

3. Important Notes:

   • Use the ‘My Applications’ section in the profile to print the submitted application.

   • Include a printout of the application in all communications with the Commission.

   • Aadhaar card holders must add Aadhaar as an ID proof in their profile.

4. Exam Confirmation and Admission Ticket:

   • If a Written/OMR/Online Test is conducted, candidates must confirm their willingness to appear through their profile within the stipulated period.

   • Only those who submit confirmation will be able to generate and download Admission Tickets 15 days prior to the exam date.

   • Details regarding confirmation and hall ticket availability will be published in the Examination Calendar and notified via the candidate’s profile and registered mobile number.

5. Last Date to Apply:

   • The last date for submitting the online application is July 16, 2025 (Wednesday), up to 12:00 midnight.

• In the case of difference in Caste / Community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non-creamy layer certificate / Community certificate at the time of certificate verification
• Candidates are required to acquaint themselves with the instruction given in the notification as part II, General conditions before submitting application for the post. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in the General conditions are liable to be rejected.
• Appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc. and are liable to be disqualified for being considered for a particular post or debarment from applying to the Commission either permanently or for any period or the invalidation of their answer scripts or products in a written / practical test or the initiation of criminal or other proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary action against them, if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above.
