The Kerala Police Sub Inspector (SI) Mains examination is designed to test candidates on a wide range of subjects, from general knowledge and current affairs to arithmetic, reasoning, English, regional language, and law-related topics. With a total of 100 marks, the exam gives special emphasis to subject areas connected to police duties and the Indian Constitution, making focused preparation essential.
I. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
(i) HISTORY – 3 Marks
- Kerala: Arrival of Europeans and their contributions; history of Travancore from Marthanda Varma to Sree Chithirathirunnal; major social and religious reform movements; national movement in Kerala; literary sources of Kerala history; the United Kerala Movement; and the political and social developments in Kerala after 1956.
