No. The KTET February 2026 Notification does not prescribe any minimum or maximum age limit. Candidates who possess the required educational qualifications can apply.
Can I apply for more than one KTET category?
Yes. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria for multiple categories can apply for more than one KTET category, subject to the prescribed conditions.
What are the KTET 2026 categories?
KTET is conducted in four categories:
Category I – Lower Primary Teachers (Classes I–V)
Category II – Upper Primary Teachers (Classes VI–VIII)
Category III – High School Teachers (Classes IX–X)
Category IV – Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers & Physical Education Teachers
Is the KTET certificate mandatory for teacher recruitment in Kerala?
Yes. For many teaching posts in Government, Aided, and recognized schools in Kerala, qualifying KTET is one of the essential eligibility requirements, subject to the applicable recruitment rules.
