SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2022
The preliminary exam is for a total of 100 marks conducted for a duration of 60 minutes. The subjects and their weightage is shown in the table below.

SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam 2022 Topic Wise Weightage
There are three sections in the prelims exam – Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. The duration allotted for each section is 20 minutes. Each section consists of questions from various topics. Let us have a look at the weightage of each topic in the respective section.
English
This section is for 30 marks and there are five topics under this section. Each question carries one mark.

Quantitative Aptitude
This section is for 35 marks and there are four topics under this section. Each question carries one mark.

Data Interpretation:
About 10 questions are asked from Data Interpretation based on the following:

- Table
- Bar Graph
- Pie Chart
- Line Chart
- Caselet
- Missing Data etc.
Most common Data Interpretation questions that can be asked in prelims are Tabular DI, Bar, Line graphs and Pie Charts. Time consuming topics like Mixed, Caselets, and missing DI are less likely to be asked.
Number Series
Two types of number series questions are asked in SBI Clerk prelims exam- missing number series or wrong number series. Some of the most common number series are

- Multiplication pattern
- Square pattern
- Cube pattern
- Arithmetic Progression pattern
- Addition/ Subtraction pattern
- Combination of the above-mentioned pattern
Simplification
You need to practice speed for this topic. Knowledge of multiplication tables till 20, squares till 25, cube till 15 and value of fractions till 1/15 will be handy. Keep in mind the BODMAS rule while simplifying.
Arithmetic
This topic can have questions based on the following:
- Time and Work
- Time, Distance, and Speed
- Age
- Profit, Loss, and Discount
- SI / CI
- Partnerships
- Mixture and Allegation
- Averages, Ratio and Averages
- Pipes and Cisterns
- Boat and Streams
Reasoning Ability
This section is for 35 marks and there are seven topics under this section. Each question carries one mark.

Puzzles and Seating Arrangement
Candidates can expect a minimum of 15 questions, i.e. 3 puzzles and seating arrangement questions. The questions will be based on the following:
- Linear, 2 Row, Circular, Square seating arrangement
- Floor based puzzles
- Scheduling – Day/Week/Year/Date/Time
- Tabulation
Syllogism
Only a few traditional syllogism questions will be asked.
Alphabet Based Series
Around five questions will be asked from this topic. Practice questions based on alphanumeric and alphabet. Memorizing the positions of alphabet forward and backwards ahead of the exam will help you save time.
