Preparation Tips to Crack SBI PO 2020 Exam

  • Plan your strategies for the preparation

The candidate should keep in mind that, you are not going to attend an easy level exam. SBI often maintains the level of examination more or less- moderate-difficult- level. So, it is really important to plan your preparations, segregate the topics, and set a time-table. Remember the ‘sectional timing‘!

  • Cover topics wisely- for all subjects.

Compare the previous years question paper analysis and give priority to the topics accordingly. In SBI PO Prelims 2019- the QA section was more difficult compared to the Reasoning. The easiest part was English.

Check the study materials for SBI PO.

The SBI PO Mains 2019, the level of the exam was very difficult, of which the Reasoning and Computer Awareness was the toughest. Also, new patterns of questions were asked both in reasoning and DI. And the Descriptive exam was a moderate level.

Take a free vocabulary test!

Topics to be concentrated more

Reasoning Quantitative Aptitude English Language
1.Arrangement – max 4(Out of these, 3 will be Medium and 1 will be Hard)

More chance to ask circular arrangement with some facing inside and some facing outside)

Puzzle like floor arrangement will be of 8 or 9 people.

Most probably the hard puzzle will be of 4 variables.

2. Blood relation – equation-based

3.Direction/Ranking: 2 or 3

If three questions, then the chance of coded direction is high.

4.Coded Inequalities – 5 marks

Also, there are some optional topics which may or may not ask  but still important to learn and easy to crack: They are:

Syllogism – 5 marks

The coded syllogism is asking nowadays or conventional type syllogism questions with percentages in conclusions may ask.

Machine Input-Output – 5 marks

Data sufficiency – 5 marks.

1.Approximation- 5 to 10

2.Quadratic Equation- 5

3.No.series (Most probably wrong number series will be asked) – 5

4.DI- 5 to 10(One will be of moderate level and another one will be tricky or of more calculations)

May ask Pie charts/ table DI questions associated with ratio and proportions)

5.Miscellaneous – 12 to 18

In PO level exams, we should not concentrate more on simplification and miscellaneous questions.

1.Reading comprehension

2. Cloze test

3. Error spotting

4.Phrase replacement

5. Fill in the blanks

Attempt Daily quiz on Reasoning Ability and QA.

  • Be updated with the current affairs.

Previous year most of the questions were from current affairs. Only 5-6 questions covered the static GK. So, it is very much important. It is also the scoring section that can be done accurately. At least try to cover important current affairs of the last 6 months.

  • Analyze previous question papers and cut-off marks.

This could help with the timetable preparation. If you are weak in any important unavoidable topic- find more time to fix it. Also, it is not important to cover all the topics for scoring well! Take the points wisely to avoid unwanted topics.

Get notes on Coronavirus and Union Budget 2020.

  • Don’t over-stress your mind

Don’t tire yourself with the pressure. The preparation time up to the exam date is really stressful period for the candidate. This will reflects at the time of the exam. For that one hour/ 3 hours presence of mind is important- how you navigate through questions, time spent on each question. If confused, move to the next, and save your marks. There is negative marking for the wrong answer.

Work hard, do your best, stay calm, and never lose your hope.

  • Practice more mock tests and find time for revision.

Early preparation will make time for revisions. Practice as many mock tests you can like:

  • Topic-wise mock tests- To analyze your preparation on each topic.
  • Section-wise tests- Mix of topics under each subject.
  • Full-length mock tests
  • The memory-based previous question papers

Make a comparison table of marks after each exam. Analyze the weaker topics, revise it. This will help you to be confident. The quality of preparation will be gainful for the SBI PO 2020.
