The 750 vacancies are distributed across all states and union territories in India, with reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and General categories, along with 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD – HI, OC, VI, ID categories).

IOB Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Age, Qualification & Other Details

Before applying for the IOB Apprentice Recruitment 2026, candidates must ensure they meet all the prescribed eligibility conditions. The IOB Apprentice eligibility criteria include age limit, educational qualification, nationality, and other requirements specified in the official notification. 1. Nationality

Candidate must be a Citizen of India.

2. Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

• Minimum: 20 years
• Maximum: 28 years (General & EWS candidates)
• DOB should fall between 01.07.1998 and 01.07.2006 (both dates inclusive)

3. Age Relaxation

NAPS-registered candidates should be less than 34 years as on cut-off date.

4. Educational Qualification (as on 31.07.2026)

A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university. Result must be declared on or before 31.07.2026.

• For NATS-registered candidates, graduation result must have been declared between 01.03.2022 and 31.07.2026.

5. Other Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates should NOT have undergone apprenticeship earlier (with IOB or any other organization) or terminated mid-way due to their own fault.
• Candidates with 1 year or more of job/training experience after graduation are NOT eligible.

Selection is based on:

IOB Apprentice 2026 Online Exam Pattern (Objective Type)

• Duration: 90 minutes
• Exam conducted online via candidate’s own front-camera-enabled laptop/desktop/tablet/smartphone
• No minimum qualifying marks per subject, but overall aggregate cut-off applies (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD)
• Merit list prepared category-wise; in case of tie, senior by age ranks higher

Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the state they applied for. Conducted during document verification. Candidates with 10th/12th mark sheets showing the relevant language are exempted.

IOB Apprentice Stipend 2026 – Salary Details

For NATS-registered apprentices, Bank pays the balance after government’s DBT share of Rs. 6,150/-:

• Urban: Rs. 8,350/- (Bank) + Rs. 6,150/- (Govt DBT)
• Semi-Urban/Rural: Rs. 7,850/- (Bank) + Rs. 6,150/- (Govt DBT)

Apprentices are not entitled to any other allowances/benefits and are NOT treated as “employees” of the Bank.

Key Terms & Conditions for IOB 2026 Apprentices

• Apprentices are not employees of the Bank and get no employee benefits.
• Training hours match those of Bank’s Clerical staff.
• 12 days casual leave/year (max 4 days at a time); no other leave type applicable.
• No obligation on the Bank to offer regular employment after apprenticeship.
• No reservation for Ex-servicemen.
