Kerala Public Service Commission is to conduct the prelims examination for the Electrician and Electrician Grade 2 posts, for the notifications released in 2019, 2020, and 2021. The exam commission has decided to conduct the Electrician and Electrician Grade 2 written objective OMR by November 2021.

There a total of 34228 candidates are appearing for the examination of Electrician and Electrician Grade 2 posts, conducted to various departments like Tourism Department (category number – 326/2020), Kerala Ceramics Limited (category number – 349/2020), Agriculture Development and Farmer’s Welfare Department (category number – 404/2020), Electrician Grade II Kerala Ceramics Limited (category number – 084/2021), Electrician Grade II Universities in Kerala (category number -209/2021).

Admit Card Download Date

Those candidates who have submitted the Electrician exam confirmation within 11th September 2021, as per the examination calendar, can download their Kerala PSC Electrician exam admit card from 11 November 2021 onwards. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website. For downloading admit card candidates log on to their one tine registration portal – Thulasi.

Kerala PSC Electrician Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The applications for the post of electrician exam are accepted only from the candidates having eligibility requirements as mentioned in the respective notification. The educational qualifications include a minimum qualification of S.S.L.C. with:

• I.T.I Electrician, or I.T.I. (Wireman Trade), or KGCE (Electrical)
• National Trade Certificate in the trade of electrician obtained after a course of two year’s training in the Industrial Training Institutes, or a Certificate in the trade of electrician obtained after 18 months course in the Industrial Training Institute with 6 months in-plant training. For this educational criteria, the candidate should have experience of not less than one year as an electrician under government or in a reputed Institution.
• For the electrician post in the Kerala State Film Development Corporation Limited, the candidate must have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Two years experience in a film studio of repute.

The exam pattern includes questions from the topics concerned to the educational qualification. And the maximum mark offered for the paper is 100, with a duration of 75 minutes. The medium of language for the exam will be English, with OMR/Online (Objective Multiple Choice) mode of test. The mode of the test will be available on the admit card of the candidate.

Syllabus for Electrician & Electrician Grade 2

The syllabus for the Electrician includes 10 modules – Basic Electricity, Ohm’s Law, Magnetism, alternating current and Earthing, DC Machine, AC Motors, single and 3 phase, Instruments, and Transformers, Illumination and Basic Electronics, Power Generation, Transmission, respectively.
