KSFDC Electrician Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Age, Qualification & Details

Candidates aspiring to apply for the Kerala PSC Electrician post must satisfy three major eligibility parameters — age limit, educational qualification, and work experience. Let’s look at each in detail.

1. Age Limit for Kerala PSC Electrician Post

• Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
• Only those born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
• Age relaxation is applicable for OBC and SC/ST candidates as per usual Kerala PSC norms.
• In no case shall the maximum upper age limit exceed 50 years, even after relaxation.

Age relaxation for provisional hands:
Provisional employees already working in KSFDC will get age relaxation equal to their provisional service period, subject to a maximum of 5 years, provided they were within the prescribed age limit at the time of their first appointment in the concern. Regular employees of KSFDC are not eligible for this relaxation for further appointments. A certificate specifying the provisional service period (and confirming non-regular status) must be produced when required.

2. Educational Qualification for Electrician Post (KSFDC)

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, OR
• In the absence of diploma holders, a Certificate from ITI after completing an 18-month course in the Electrician trade, along with successful completion of apprenticeship.

Qualifications recognized as equivalent or higher by Government executive/standing orders are also accepted, provided they presuppose the acquisition of the prescribed lower qualification. Supporting Government Orders must be produced during verification.

3. Work Experience Requirement – KFDC Recruitment 2026

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a film studio of repute is mandatory.
• The experience certificate must be issued in the prescribed format, duly certified by the concerned Controlling Officer/Head of Office.
• Exception for SC/ST candidates: In the absence of SC/ST candidates possessing the required experience, SC/ST candidates without experience will also be considered for selection.

Note: Producing bogus experience certificates can lead to legal action and disqualification.

• The Ranked List published for this post will remain valid for a minimum of 1 year and maximum of 3 years.
• KPSC reserves the right to cancel an advice for appointment if made under mistake, within the probation period or 240 days from joining, whichever is earlier.
• Candidates with Aadhaar Card must add it as ID proof in their OTR profile.
• Any difference between caste/community claimed in the application and SSLC records must be supported by a Gazette Notification along with Community/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate at the time of verification.
• Submitting bogus qualification or experience claims can lead to disciplinary action, debarment, or even criminal proceedings under Rule 22 of KPSC Rules of Procedure.
