Kerala PSC LGS Selection Process 2027: Overview

A confirmed LGS notification for 2027 has not been released yet. The final Kerala PSC LGS Selection Process 2027 will be stated in the new notification.

For the Company/Board LGS recruitment, the selection is mainly based on:

1. OMR-based written examination (objective type)
2. Document verification
3. Rank list and advice (appointment recommendation)

Different websites describe the process differently. Some mention an interview, while others list only the written exam and document verification. Kerala PSC does not normally conduct an interview for LGS posts. Please check the official notification for the exact stages. Earlier LGS cycles in some districts have also used a preliminary stage, so confirm whether the 2027 notification includes one.

Stage 1: Online Application and Confirmation

The process begins with the online application on the Thulasi portal. After the application window, candidates must complete a separate confirmation step during the confirmation window. Only candidates who confirm are allowed to write the exam and download the admission ticket.

This step filters out candidates who are not serious about the exam, which reduces the number of people who actually appear.

Stage 2: OMR Written Examination

The written exam is the most important stage, since your rank depends mainly on your marks.

• Medium: Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada

The 10 marks for the regional language is derived from the total of 100 marks and the syllabus mention of translation and simple sentence structure in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. Stage 3: Document Verification

Candidates who rank high in the exam and are considered for appointment are called for document verification. You will be asked to show original documents such as:

• SSLC or relevant educational certificate and proof of date of birth
• Qualification certificate (Standard VII or equivalent)
• Community and non-creamy layer certificates, where applicable
• Disability or ex-serviceman certificates, if claimed
• Identity proof and Thulasi profile printout

If there is any mismatch between your profile and your certificates, your candidature can be rejected. Keep all documents ready and consistent.

Cycling Knowledge and Physical Requirements

The last notification required knowledge of cycling, with women and differently abled candidates exempted. Kerala PSC or the appointing authority may verify this condition. It is a good idea to practise cycling if you do not already know it, so that it does not become a problem at a later stage.

Stage 4: Shortlist, Rank List and Cut-Off

After the exam, the following steps usually happen:

• Provisional answer key is released, and candidates can raise objections within the given window.
• Final answer key is published after review.
• Shortlist or rank list is prepared based on marks. The rank list considers reservation rules, as per the Kerala government norms.
• Cut-off marks vary by category and depend on the difficulty level and the number of vacancies.

Stage 5: Advice Memo and Appointment

Once the rank list is published, Kerala PSC sends advice memos to candidates as vacancies are reported by the companies, corporations and boards. The advice is sent to your Thulasi profile and registered address. After that:

1. You receive an appointment order from the concerned employer.
2. You complete the joining formalities and a probation period as per service rules.
3. You start your government service.

The number of advice memos depends on the number of vacancies reported during the validity of the rank list, so rank matters a lot.

How Reservation Affects the LGS Rank List 2027

Kerala PSC follows the rotation system of reservation for communities such as SC, ST, OBC and others, along with open merit. This means that a candidate’s chance of advice depends both on their marks and their category. Know your category’s trend from previous rank lists to set a realistic target.
