Part IV: General English (10 Marks)

1. Start with Kerala Governance and Important Acts. Together these carry 15 marks and are often under-prepared by candidates — a focused effort here gives a strong return.

3. Track current affairs consistently. Fifteen marks come from recent events — daily revision beats last-minute cramming.
4. Drill arithmetic and reasoning for speed, since the 1-hour-30-minute window for 100 questions leaves little room for slow calculation.
5. Revise English grammar and vocabulary systematically — these are high-scoring, low-ambiguity questions if the basics are clear.

Kerala PSC SBCID Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

The Special Branch Assistant SBCID exam pattern includes an Online/OMR-based test for a total of 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour 15 minutes. The question paper is divided into Part I & II – English and Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada (M/T/K), Part III – English, and Part IV – M/T/K.
