Age Limit
- 18 – 40 Years.
- Only candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.
Special Concessions Regarding Appointment and Age Limit
- Preference will be given as laid down in G.O.(MS) No. 50/70/PD dated 12.02.1970 and G.O.(MS) No. 9/78/G.Edn. Dated 21.01.1978 to the wives of Jawans in the matter of recruitment as Teachers, if they possess the prescribed qualifications. Soldiers in active service and those working in Base Establishment are included under the term `Jawans’. Wives of Jawans should note in the application that they are wives of Jawans. Such candidates should obtain proper certificates from the Officer Commanding stating the name, military rank and military address of their husbands and produce the same as and when required by the Commission (G.O (MS) No. 509/64/Edn. Dated 19.09.1964, G.O. (MS) No. 614/65/Edn. Dated 09.11.1965 and G.O (MS) No. 243/66/Edn. Dated 27.05.1966).
- First Class Scouts and Guides will be given preference in the matter of appointment as Teachers (G.O (MS) No. 122/75/G.Edn. Dated 27.05.1975 ) and GO(MS) No.50/70/PD dated 12/2/1970).
- Laboratory Attenders in the departmental High Schools in the state who have rendered at least 5 years satisfactory service and who possess the prescribed qualification will be exempted from age limit. They should produce proper certificates from the headmaster of the school specifying the date of commencement of their service and the total service put in by them as and when required by the commission. The candidates who claim exemption on this basis will be considered only against the vacancies to be filled up by open competition on the basis of merit alone(G.O(MS) No.315/62/Edn. Dated 14.05.1962.
Note:
- The candidates who are eligible for the above preferences or concessions in upper age limit or concessions by virtue of any of the reason mentioned in Para 2 of the General Condition should claim the same through the “weightage and preferences” link provided in their One Time Registration Profile and give details in the space provided.
- The applications of candidates who are eligible for concession in upper age limit and who do not claim the same, are liable to be rejected presuming that they are over aged candidates. Upper age limit after allowing the relaxation as per rule should not exceed 50 years of age (see para 2 of General Conditions.
Educational Qualification
- 10th standard with 1st language Kannada/ Kannada as Medium of Instruction along with TTC/DEd/DElEd in Kannada Medium after a pass in Higher Secondary Exam.
- 10th Standard with Kannada as medium of instruction and BEd/BT/LT/DEd/DElEd along with a degree in any subject.
- 10th standard with Kannada as Medium of instruction and a pass in Higher SecondaryExamination/equivalent along with TTC/DEd/DElEd.
- 10th standard with Kannada as first language and Bed/BT/LT/ TTC/DEd/DElEd along with a degree with Kannada as 2nd language.
- A pass in Higher Secondary Exam with Kannada as 2nd language and B.Ed/BT/LT/TTC/DEd/DElEd along with a degree with Kannada as 2nd Language.
- A Degree with 2nd language Kannada and BEd/BT/LT/TTC/DEd/DElEd in Kannada.
Note (1): As per G.O.(R.T.) No. 3280/13/G.Edn dated 05.08.13, the TTC qualification has been renamed as D.Ed (Diploma in Teacher Education) and subsequently as per G.O.(RT) No.1700/18/G.Edn. Dated 05.05.18 and G.O.(RT)No.2009/18/G.Edn dated 30.05.18 again renamed as D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education). The candidates who have possessed D.Ed/ D.El.Ed qualification shall also be considered for the selection.
Note (2): The Degrees/Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O(M.S)No.526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services.
Note (3): Must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) for this post conducted by the Government of Kerala.
Exemption
- Candidates who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the respective subject/M.Ed in any subject are exempted from acquiring TET (G.O.(P) No. 145/16/G.Edn. Dated 30.08.16, G.O.(P)No.206/16/ G.Edn.Dated 08.12.2016 and G.O(P)No.15/2020/G.Edn Dated 09.10.20).
- As per the conditions laid down in Government Circular No. 1866829/J3/2017/G. Edn. Dated 09.03.2018 those who passes CTET primary stage and CTET Elementary stage were excluded from KTET Cat. I & KTET Cat. II respectively. Also CTET qualification can’t be considered as an alternative qualification for KTET Cat. III and Cat.IV.
Note:
- M.Phil in the concerned subject be the one awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or recognised as equivalent by any of the Universities in Kerala.
- All Degrees including B.Tech, BCA which are fixed as criteria for B Ed admission conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala are also considered as academic qualification for this post. (G.O(MS) No. 215/2022/G.Edn. dtd 23.11.2022.)
- If there is a written (Descriptive/OMR) test the Question paper for the written test will be in Kannada. The candidates should answer the questions in Kannada. In the case of OMR Answer Script, answers are to be marked as instructed.
- KS & SSR part II Rule 10 a (ii) is applicable for selection to this post.
- In addition to the qualification prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.
