A hobby is something we like to do during leisure time. Making it productive and useful during exam season is a vital task. It could be something that we really wanted to do, and hence the happiness it showers upon us is immense. It’s not an inborn inclination. A hobby is developed through a constant and systematic process. It’s not pursued to make a profit. The main purpose of a hobby is to derive pleasure out of it. It gives us mental and physical relaxation. Here let’s discuss the “ Must-have hobbies to crack SBI PO.”

Firstly, let’s get a glimpse of our exam pattern. SBI PO Exam includes three stages of selection criteria ie

  • Online Prelims exam
  • Online Mains Exam
  • Interview process

Listing out some of the beneficial hobbies:

Reading

“He that loves reading has everything within his reach”.Reading helps you attain a relaxed mind. It helps you improve your focus and concentration, for vocabulary expansion, and memory improvement. Studying at the eleventh hour is not a feasible technique to score well in Language. Here the key to success is making it a habit to read regularly be it the newspaper, book of your favorite author, or any articles. When we read our mind picturizes each sentence in it and thereby it’s an exercise for our brain. Make it a habit to read at least one hour per day you can see the impact it creates in less than a month.

Writing/Blogging

By jotting down one’s thoughts we can share our opinion and ideology about things happening around. Blogging is the modern form of expressing one’s feelings in public via the internet. Many online platforms like Medium, WordPress, etc.. give us the chance to write down our views. Moreover, we get to see the diverse perspective of people all around the world in such platforms, and this helps us to widen our thoughts and think out of the box.

One of the four sections in the SBI PO Mains exam is a Descriptive test( Essay and Letter writing) with a 30 mins duration for testing your proficiency in the English language. So if Writing/ Blogging is your hobby that could be an added advantage as you needn’t allot separate time for preparing this.

Solving Puzzles and Crosswords

Data Analysis and Interpretation is a section included in the Mains exam. One night’s preparation might not be enough to solve the moderate level questions asked in this part. Hence it’s better to make a habit of solving puzzles and crosswords. Critical thinking is an essential part of any exam and we can easily mould our thinking through constant effort. It’s not that only the born intellectuals can become Einstein. Crosswords help us to improve our vocabulary effortlessly.

Teaching

Teaching helps us to remain familiar with the modifications in the current education system and updated with the syllabus. Moreover, imparting our knowledge is equivalent to twice the effect of learning by ourselves.

Find some time for your passion

Passion is your ardent desire to pursue something that you really love or is talented in. Working it out would help you boost up your confidence. If you are not sure about having a passion, try learning something new. Say, playing a musical instrument. It helps you :

  •  Increases the capacity of your memory.
  • Refines your time management and organizational skills.
  • Teaches you perseverance.
  • Enhances your coordination.

Similarly, search for the benefits of activities you are interested in and each of them is sure to have numerous positive sides.

Yoga/meditation

“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. As we all know peaceful mind and a healthy body are inevitable for a well executable study plan. Refreshing your mind and body helps you understand the concept thoroughly and improves your concentration. This could be achieved by practicing yoga and meditation on a daily basis.

Volunteering

Being with an NGO like “Make A Difference” or “Teach for India” or any nature clubs, is a boon for preparation for any exams. It provides a sense of purpose and increases your self – confidence. Also, networking with people and understanding the huge diversity in this society helps you become a better human being. There are sections of Group Discussion along with the interview process. For this and the whole process of SBI PO or say any other exams that come on the way, volunteering, even if it’s once a week is going to be an advantage for your preparation and to understand your inner self.

To conclude, none of the exams have a capsule or success mantra to score good marks. All you need is perseverance and endurance until you reach your goal. Meanwhile never think the time spend on any of your hobbies is a waste. While making a choice out of many ways of spending our time, we ought to ensure that it restores our lost energy and cheers us up and keep this in mind while figuring out a new hobby. Better late than never, prepare with the Entri app, and pass the exam with flying colors.
