Railway Recruitment Board is a government organization in India, under the Ministry of Railways. RRB conducts Computer Based Test for the recruitment into various sections of Indian Railway. Every year the Railway Recruitment Cell releases recruitment notification with many vacancies in different positions. RRB Group D 2022 notification has been released to admit candidates into the post of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant Pointsman in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix, etc. In this article, let’s discuss the selection process of RRB Group D 2022. RRB Group D 2022: Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be 10th standard pass or
- ITI from Institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- ITI has been made non-mandatory for Group D recruitment.
- The applicant must be an Indian National.
- Minimum and maximum age limit are 18 to 33 years respectively.
RRB Group D 2022: Selection Process
The selection of candidates to the RRB Group D 2022 various post is through different stages. Primarily the candidates have to submit their application through Online mode. The application will be successfully registered only after paying the application fee. The general applicants have to pay Rs.500/- and the fee for PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is Rs.250/- Candidates can pay the fee through both online and offline.
After the submission of the Application form, admit card will be released three weeks before the examination date. RRB Group D 2020 admit card will be published in the Official website of Indian Railway. The registered candidates can download by using the required credentials.
For the selection of candidates into the job position is by four stages:
1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
All the registered applicants are supposed to appear the Computer Based Test, the test will be conducted for 90 minutes and the question pattern will be Objective Multiple Choice. For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded and 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The test comprises of questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
Question Type and Syllabus:
The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions
pertaining to:
a. Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b. General Intelligence and reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c. General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).
d. General Awareness on current affairs: in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities,
Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Before the publishing of result, cut off will be published. Each category has different cut off on the basis of category wise reservation notification released by Government of India. Candidates will be selected for PET three times the number of vacancies. Shortlisting for PET will be done based on their performance in CBT. The results of RRB Group D 2020 will be published online. The result will be available region wise in PDF format. The result will display the list of qualifying candidates.
For male candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2
minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and should be able to run for a distance of 1000
metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
For female candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2
minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and should be able to run for a distance of 1000
metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
3. Document Verification
According to the candidate’s performance in CBT and subject to their qualifying PET, candidates’ 1.05 times the number of vacancies will be called for document verification.
4. Medical Examination
After the completion of the above three-step, the candidates have to undergo a medical examination. At last, the appointment letter will be given to those were fit for the job position.
