The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the notification to appoint 5280 candidates across India towards the banking sector. The selected candidates will be appointed as the Circle Based Officers in the SBI services. Graduates below 30 years with local language proficiency and banking experience are eligible for this position. SBI Circle Based Officer Eligibility Criteria
While graduates below 30 years with some banking experience are generally eligible for the Circle Based Officer Posts, some of them are exempt from the appointment. Candidates with record of default in loan repayment/ credit card dues and/ or against whose name adverse report of CIBIL or other external banking sector agencies are available are also ineligible for appointment. Candidates against whom there is an adverse report regarding character and antecedents, moral turpitude is also ineligible for this post. SBI CBO Eligibility: Age Limit
Not below 21 years and Not above 30 years as on 31.10.2023. The candidates must have been born not later than 31.10.2002 and not earlier than 01.11.1993 (both days inclusive).

SBI Circle Based Officers Education Qualification
The essential education qualification criteria for the applicants is Graduation. Candidates should have completed graduation (Degree) in any stream from any UGC recognized university in India, or it’s equivalent as on August 01, 2020. Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application form. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
- Local Language Efficiency
Candidates applying for vacancies of a State have to produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specific local language of the applied State as one of the subjects.
Experience: There shall be a 2 years experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank. Freshers and recent graduates are not eligible for the SBI Circle bAsed Officers Post.

SBI CBO Eligibility Criteria: For Persons with Disability
The Persons suffering from Hard of hearing and Deafness are also eligible for this post. The Visually Impaired (VI) persons who suffer from any one of the following conditions, after best correction, are eligible for the SBI CBO Position:
- Blindness:
i. A total absence of sight; OR
ii. Visual acuity less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible
correction; OR
iii. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of fewer than 10 degrees. OR - Low Vision:
i. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or up to 10/200 (Snellen) in the
better eye with best possible corrections; OR
ii. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of fewer than 40 degrees up to 10 degrees.

Only persons with benchmark disabilities would be eligible for the PwD reservation. “Benchmark disability” means a person with not less than 40% of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in
measurable terms and includes the persons with a disability, where disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority.
A person who wants to avail the benefit of reservation will have to submit a disability certificate issued by a Competent Authority as per Government of India guidelines. Such certificate will be subject to verification/ re-verification as may be decided by the competent authority

SBI CBO Salary 2023
As per the official SBI CBO Notification 2023, the initial salary of a “Circle Based Officers” (CBOs) will be in the scale of JMGS-I (36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2- 49910-1990/7-63840), at the start of the scale i.e. Rs. 36,000/- plus one increment for each completed year of service rendered in officer cadre in the Scheduled Commercial Bank and Regional Rural Bank.
The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.
