The Kerala PSC Village Field Assistant (VFA) exam for Category No. 571/2025 was held on 19 September 2026 for the first phase of five districts. Every candidate now asks the same question: what will the Kerala PSC VFA cut off 2026  be?

Kerala PSC does not announce a cut off before the exam. It becomes clear only when the ranked list is published. What you can do is study the previous Village Field Assistant cut off marks, understand what drives them, and work out where your score stands.

What Is the Kerala PSC Village Field Assistant Cut Off 2026?

The Kerala PSC Village Field Assistant cut off is the mark of the last candidate who gets a place in a district’s list. It is not a single state-wide number. Each district has its own cut off, because you compete only with applicants from the district you chose.

Cut off marks depend on:

• Number of vacancies reported for the district
• Number of candidates who applied and appeared
• Difficulty of the question paper
• Overall performance of candidates in that district

This is why the same score can be safe in one district and too low in another.

How the Last VFA Recruitment Worked (Cat. No. 368/2021)

To use the previous cut offs correctly, you need to know how the last cycle worked:

1. A common preliminary exam was held in several sittings between May and July 2022.
2. Kerala PSC published district-wise shortlists in January 2023 based on the preliminary result, along with the cut off marks.
3. Shortlisted candidates wrote the common main exam (100 marks, OMR) on 11 May 2023.
4. Ranked lists were then published district-wise, starting from late 2023.

So the cut offs in the next table are the preliminary shortlist cut offs from the 368/2021 cycle. They show how competitive each district was, but they are not the final ranked-list cut offs. They are the best district-wise benchmark available and should be read that way.

The 2026 recruitment (571/2025) is expected to be a single-stage OMR exam. Your score on the exam you just wrote is therefore the deciding score.

Kerala PSC VFA Previous Year Cut Off: District-Wise (Cat. No. 368/2021)

Thiruvananthapuram (82.65) and Kozhikode (81.45) were the most competitive. Wayanad (64.67) and Pathanamthitta (69.82) were the least. Most districts sat between 74 and 82.

Kerala PSC VFA Cut Off 2017 – Earlier Single-Stage Exam

The 2017 VFA exam was also a one-time OMR test held in three district phases, so it is a useful comparison for 2026.

In 2017, cut offs were higher and more even across districts, mostly between 77 and 86. That is the range you can expect when the exam is a single stage.

Factors That Will Decide the Kerala PSC Village Field Assistant Cut Off 2026

1. Applicants. More than 5.9 lakh candidates applied across all 14 districts, and Thiruvananthapuram alone had over 84,000 applications. Wayanad had the fewest. Heavy competition pushes cut offs up.

2. Vacancies. VFA vacancies are district-wise and anticipated. A district with few vacancies and many applicants will have a high cut off. A low applicant count does not mean an easy district, because it usually has few vacancies as well.

4. Negative marking. Kerala PSC objective exams generally deduct 1/3 mark for each wrong answer [CONFIRM]. Your net score depends on accuracy as much as attempts.

5. Single-stage selection. With no preliminary round to filter candidates, the final cut off carries more weight and tends to be higher.

When Will the VFA Ranked List and Cut Off Be Published?

Kerala PSC publishes the cut off with the district-wise ranked list, after all exam phases and the final answer key are done. The 2026 exam is in three phases, and the 19 September phase covers only five districts. In the last cycle, the main exam was on 11 May 2023 and the ranked lists came in from late 2023, with some effective from January 2024. Expect the 2026 ranked list to take months, not weeks.
