IBPS RRB Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2026
Aspirants must satisfy the necessary conditions of eligibility for the exam before applying. Ineligible candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam. The eligibility criteria for the post of Office Assistant is given below-
IBPS RRB Clerk Age Limit
Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) must meet the prescribed age requirements as on 01.09.2026.

IBPS RRB Clerk Age Relaxation
The maximum age limit is applicable to General and EWS category candidates. Candidates belonging to eligible categories can avail of the following age relaxation:

IBPS RRB Clerk Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) must meet the prescribed educational qualification requirements as on 21.09.2026, the last date of online registration.

IBPS RRB Clerk Nationality
To apply for IBPS RRB Clerk 2026, a candidate must be:
- A Citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates belonging to the categories of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan Refugees and persons of Indian origin mentioned above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in local language as per the participating RRB
- Desirable to have a working knowledge of Computer

IBPS RRB PwBD Eligibility 2026
1: What does the acronym "ATM" stand for in banking?
Candidates applying under the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) category can claim reservation if they have a benchmark disability of not less than 40%, as certified by a competent authority. Candidates claiming PwBD reservation must submit a valid disability certificate in the prescribed format. The certificate may also be subject to verification or re-verification during the recruitment process.
For the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the following categories of benchmark disabilities are identified as suitable:
- Locomotor Disability (OC/LD): One Arm, Both Arms, One Leg, Both Legs, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured Person, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Muscular Dystrophy, and Spinal Deformity/Spinal Injury without associated neurological or limb dysfunction.
- Visual Impairment (VI): Blindness and Low Vision.
- Hearing Impairment (HI): Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Intellectual Disability and Other Disabilities: Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI), Intellectual Disability and Multiple Disabilities, including the disabilities mentioned above.
Note: PwBD candidates may be required to undergo authentication of their UDID card or disability certificate. The allotted RRB may also require further medical assessment to verify the disability certificate and assess suitability for the functional requirements of the post.
Guidelines for Visually Impaired Candidates
Visually impaired candidates with not less than 40% disability may choose to view the test content in magnified font. Such candidates are eligible for 20 minutes of compensatory time for every hour of the examination, or as otherwise advised. However, the magnified-font facility will not be available to candidates who use the services of a scribe.
Guidelines for Candidates with Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy
Candidates with locomotor disability or cerebral palsy whose dominant writing extremity is affected to the extent of slowing their performance, with a minimum of 40% impairment, are eligible for 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour of the examination, or as otherwise advised.
Guidelines for Candidates with Intellectual Disability
Candidates with more than 40% intellectual disability, including eligible cases of autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness, are eligible for 20 minutes of compensatory time for every hour of the examination, whether or not they use a scribe.

Aspirants can apply for the IBPS RRB office assistant exam only through the online mode. They can fill the application form by logging on to the official website of the IBPS. Aspirants wishing to apply for office assistant posts can also apply for officer posts for different scales if interested, provided that they only apply to any one of the scales. They should keep the scanned images (signature and photograph) handy before beginning to fill the form. They must register themselves on the official website of IBPS for the exam before proceeding with the application form.
The information in the online application form should be filled with extreme care as after submitting the application, no change request will be allowed by the authority. The aspirants also must pay the requisite amount of fee in the form of the application fee for the exam. The application received without the payment will be rejected by the authority without any prior notice.
Steps for Making the Application
The application for the IBPS RRB Clerk examination can be made through the official website of IBPS once the official notification is published and the application portal is open. As the application is made using online methods, candidates are requested to go through the following steps so as to make the application flawlessly on the correct time.
- Candidates appearing must visit the official website of IBPS www.ibps.in.
- Go to the Home page and open the link “CRP for RRBs” and then click on the appropriate option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP X- RRBs- OFFICE ASSISTANT (Multipurpose)” to open the online application form.
- Then click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register their application and enter the basic information in the online application form.
- Upon registration candidates will receive a provisional registration number and a password will be generated. The candidate must note down the Provisional registration number and password. Also, candidates will receive the Provisional Registration number and Password via Email & SMS
- Candidates can make necessary changes to uploaded details using the registration numbers and passwords.
- Candidates are required to upload their scanned photograph, Signature – Left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of documents.
- Candidates should ensure that the given details are correct before submitting the application.
- Click on the “FINAL SUBMIT” button after verifying all the details given. No change is permitted after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT Button.
- Candidates are required to pay the application fee online mode only. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets, etc.
- On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
- Take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form containing fee details.
- For the posts of Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the candidate should indicate in the online application the state to which he/she opts for provisional allotment on selection. The option once exercised will be irrevocable cannot be changed.
- The names of RRBs for giving the order of preference will be available based on the state selected to apply. The candidate should select the center of examination in that particular state only.
Application Fee
Applicants need to pay Rs. 850/- for General candidates and Rs. 175/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates as the application fee for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant exam. Ex-serviceman wishing to apply for IBPS RRB office assistant post should pay Rs. 175/- as the application fee.

Preliminary Examination
The preliminary exam of IBPS RRB examination is an online exam testing a candidate on the basis of their aptitude, intellect, and English. There are three sections in total and the candidate must clear the cut-off of each section to proceed to the mains exam round.

Penalty for Wrong Answers
There will be a penalty for incorrect responses marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score. If a question is left blank.
Score Calculation for IBPS RRB Exam
The accurate scores received by each of the competitors in different sessions will be normalized using the equi-percentile method. Scores up to two decimal points shall be considered for the total calculations.
IBPS RRB Cut-off Score (Online Main examination)
Each applicant will be expected to achieve a minimum score in each test of the Online Main Examination and also a minimum complete score to be considered for more processes. Depending on the number of State/ UT wise vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be considered for temporary allotment. Before the completion of the provisional allotment process scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the candidates.

IBPS has released the tentative list of examination centres for the IBPS RRB Clerk 2026 Preliminary and Main Examinations.
