The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct a recruitment drive this year for selecting eligible and suitable candidates for the posts of Specialist Officer (SO) in various banks across the country. IBPS SO Roles and Responsibilities 2022
Following are the IBPS SO duty and ibps so responsibilities to be carried out:
1. Agriculture Field Officer
The main responsibility of an AFO is the promotion of rural banking. Understanding and maintaining the financial need of the rural population. They are also assigned to give information about the new schemes and benefits provided by banks and other financial institutions to the people. The SO’s are also committed to giving loans and making sure that timely repayment is done by the beneficiaries.
2. IT Officer
They plan one of the most crucial roles in Specialist Officers. As the banking sector is completely switching on to digital banking, they are assigned to resolve queries to ATMs, and other mobile and digital banking. They are also responsible to develop software and programs to help in smooth functioning and better customer support. These include maintaining the security of the whole banking process like preventing any fraudulent activities, virus attacks etc.
3. HR/Personnel Officer
They are assigned the duty of keeping track of Human Resource Activities. Also, they should keep the complete details about the employees, their salaries and promotion criteria. Moreover, they are also assigned in the recruitment process, where they should estimate and report the number of retirements and vacancies for the next year to the higher officials concerned.
4. Law Officer
The legal Officer handles all the legal matters of the bank. They also take care of any court proceedings related to the bank. They are also responsible for the authenticity of the different documents issued by the bank. Ensuring the genuinity of the documents filed by the customers is also their responsibility.
5. Marketing Officer
They are assigned to the promotion activities of the bank and hence attract more customers. They have to suggest cost-effective tips to cut down the expenses and hence increase the profit.
6. Rajabhasha Adhikari
They train the employees in the local language. They are also responsible to translate documents of the bank to the local language of the concerned region for a better understanding of the people.

IBPS SO Basic Pay is Rs 23,700. The work of an IT Officers handle deals with software maintenance of Core Banking System (CBS), Data Maintenance, Network Security, Management of Mobile and Internet Banking, Digital Transactions and other technical issues, etc.
The Salary structure of IBPS SO IT Officer is as follows:
Basic Pay: 23700 – 980 (7) – 30560 – 1145 (2) – 32850 – 1310 (7) – 42020.
Besides this, IT officers also get other benefits like Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Special Allowance etc. This salary structure is almost similar to IBPS PO.
Inhand Salary for IBPS SO

|It is basically the cost of living that is provided by the bank. It is 36 % of Basic Pay which comes down to Rs 8605.88
|House Rent Allowances (HRA)
|This allowance depends on the area being posted hence c can vary from 7-9 % depending upon which city the candidate is posted
|It is defined as the performance bonus or Incentives which an individual gets on performing exceptionally good. It is 7.75 % of the Basic Pay
|City Compensatory Allowances (CCA)
|It is given in consideration of the high cost of living in metropolitan areas and depends on the city in which they are posted. It is 3-4% depending on the city you are posted in.
|Provident Fund (PF) Contribution
|It is a part of a candidate’s monthly income which is saved so that the candidate can claim it after retirement. It is Rs 3000-3500 per month
