Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is one the most sought after exams and the only entry for getting a teaching job in the schools at the junior and elementary level (that is from 1-8th standard). Qualifying the CTET exam is the minimum requirement defined for teachers who are working or planning to work in any government, public or private school. The CTET exam, conducted by the CBSE, is found to be a moderate examination, but to crack the exam aspirants must have a proper strategic plan based on their abilities. CTET exam, unlike the Super TET exams, is conducted twice a year, consists of two levels, and both levels are conducted on a single day in separate sessions in over 135 CTET exam centers. The duration of the exam will be two and a half hours and the question paper will be available in two languages – English and Hindi. Candidates who score above the exam cut off marks and thus qualifies in the CTET exam can join various schools run by the central government, schools under the control of UT’s, private schools, schools owned, and those managed by the state government/local bodies. The CTET Eligibility Certificate will be valid for 7 years from the declaration of the result and will be awarded to candidates scoring more than 60%.

Understand the CTET 2021 Exam Pattern

It is very important to know the exam pattern and how to prepare for CTET exam. For the Teachers Eligibility Test following the topics to be covered. The understanding of subject-wise exam duration, mark distribution will help candidates to divide time during exams. Check some important points regarding the CTET 2021 examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

  • The offline CTET exam will have MCQ – objective question papers and will be set in both Hindi and English languages.
  • Both the papers will have compulsory papers with 150 marks each.
  • There will be no negative marks and each correct answer will be awarded one mark.
  • The exam duration will be 2 hours 30 minutes to attempt each paper.

Complete CTET Syllabus

  • The syllabus includes topics from the NCERT syllabus for classes I to V (Paper I) and V to VIII (Paper II) respectively.

CTET Language I

  • In most cases, the local language opted by the majority of candidates is Hindi.
  • Learn the grammar, read newspapers of local languages and also focus on time management.

CTET Preparation Tips for Mathematics Paper I and II

Mathematics is a common topic for both papers I and paper II. So, set a strategy on the basis of the important guidelines outlined for the teachers.

  • NCERT Books: Cover the topics and revise the NCERT books of mathematics from class I – V/ VI-VIII depending upon the paper appearing.
