Kerala State Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released a recruitment notification for eligible candidates towards the Food Safety Officer Posts (Category number 499/2019). Graduates who are eligible according to the eligibility criteria can submit their application to the position from 31st December 2019 to 05th February 2020 through ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION’ in the Kerala PSC official website. Food Safety Department of Kerala notified the vacancies as anticipatory vacancies, it means the department is not yet confirmed the number of vacancies for the post of Food Safety Officer 2020. As per the official notification;
3% of the vacancies for the post shall be reserved for differently-abled candidates with Locomotor disability / Cerebral palsy, Hearing Impairment, Low Vision as per G.O. (P).No.1/13/SJD dated 03.01.2013.
Kerala PSC Food Safety Officer: Eligibility
The aspirants should possess degree or master’s degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Biotechnology or Oil Technology or Agricultural Science or Veterinary Sciences or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Chemistry or Degree in Medicine (B.Sc., BVSC, M.Sc. MBBS).
There is no application fee for the examination and the job location is across Kerala. The applications must be submitted only through online mode.
Candidates should have Min 18 years to Max 36 years.
Candidates those who are born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2001( both dates are included) are only eligible to apply for this post with usual age relaxations to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other backward communities.
Kerala PSC Food Safety Officer: Pay Scale
The State Government will provide a decent salary for the Kerala PSC Food Safety Officer and it can range in between minimum Rs. 10300/- and maximum Rs. 78,910/. Kerala PSC Food Safety Officer should be able to prioritize the duties assigned to them. They should be efficient to make strong decisions, work independently, and manage time according the concerned duty. Attention to ech and ever minute detail is important, because they need to ensure the quality of edible food materials.
Exam pattern and syllabus
Objective type questions.
A total of 100 questions, each carries 1 mark and 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Medium of examination will be in English.
Duration – 1 hour 15 minutes.
Questions will be asked from 10 different sections (syllabus) like;
Food technology, Dairy technology, Veterinary science, Food Safety and Allied Laws, Nutritional Biochemistry and Food Analysis, Microbiological, Biotechnological and Medical Aspects, Agricultural Sciences, Indian National Movement & Renaissance in Kerala, Mental Ability and Test of Reasoning and General English.
