SBI Clerk Selection Process 2023
SBI clerk selection procedure: The SBI Clerk selection process includes two stages of Computer-Based Tests (CBT). Successful candidates from the CBT has to appear for the local language proficiency test. Know the complete selection procedure for SBI clerk here

Prelims Exam
It is the initial stage of the SBI Clerk Recruitment. The SBI Clerk Prelims exam date is yet to be published. The candidates can frequently visit the official website or check here for the latest exam dates updates on SBI clerk. The Main test will be conveyed after a month of the preliminary exam. SBI Clerk Prelims Exam is an online objective exam of 100 marks and 60 Minutes time.
A sum of 100 questions will be there for the prelims exam. There is a Separate time end in SBI Clerk Prelims Exam. In the exam, each part which means the Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and English Language, there will be different timing of 20 minutes each. There is no Separate Cutoff in Prelims Exam.

Mains Exam
The applicants will be chosen for the SBI Clerk Post on the basis of marks obtained in the Mains Exam as there is no additional interview method. The aggregate values received in SBI Clerk Mains Exam will be held for the arrangement of the ultimate merit list. The temporary selection of an applicant will be prepared on the basis of a candidate’s appearance in the Mains Examination. There are no least qualifying scores or any Sectional Cutoff for any of the parts. There is the condition of the overall cutoff for the SBI Clerk Mains Exam. The applicants are expected to obtain the least percentage marks on aggregate.
- Language Test (optional)
The applicants who will pass the SBI Clerk Mains test will be qualified for the following phase of recruitment i.e Local Language Test. Those applicants who can provide the 10th or 12th Certificate, evidencing that they have considered the opted local language need not perform for Language Test. For applicants who do not hold such a document, a detailed local language test will be conveyed. This test will be conveyed after temporary selection but before the joining procedure. This local language exam will be conveyed to review the ability of applicants in speaking, reading, and writing the opted local language. The applicants who were not found to be skilled in opted local language would be excluded and would not be qualified for any additional process.
Provisional Selection List
The scores of the mains exam will be considered for the preparation of the provisional selection list. The candidates who are qualified can submit the documents proving their proficiency in the local language. If they do not have a certificate to prove the language proficiency that the particular area demands, then the candidates have to go through the language test.
The merit list will be finalized category wise and State Wise. The Applicants will be allocated in the state for which they applied. After securing the job, the applicants will not be allowed to inter/intra-state variation in the first 5 years of Service.
Final Selection List
The final selection list will be out after the language proficiency test. The final list will be considered the ultimate one and the candidates whose name are on it can join the job where they have to complete the probation period. The state which the candidates choose while applying for the job will be the one where they have to work in. The candidates are not allowed to obtain transfer to any other states, for the initial 5 years o their service
Probation Period
The ultimately chosen applicants for the post of Junior Associates/Clerk will own to complete the least probation period of 6 months.In this time, the junior associates will be expected to perform 15 prescribed e-lessons for becoming approved joining in the SBI. In case of failure to achieve 15 guided e-lessons, the probation time will be increased until the finish time. Also, before the completion of the Probation period, the achievement of new recruited Junior associates will be judged.

- 1/4th marks will get deducted for every wrong answer.
- There is no minimum qualifying marks for individual sections. The final merit list will be published on State-wise and, category wise.
- Candidates who can submit their 10th or 12th certificates to prove their proficiency in the local language are exempted from the local language proficiency test.
The selected candidates will have to serve a 06 month probation period. During this probation period, he/ she has to complete 15 e-lessons to get confirmation. The probation period will continue until the candidates successfully complete all the 15 e-lessons.

SBI Clerk Eligibility 2023
The candidates who are applying for the exam should make sure the eligibility criteria before applying for the post.
Age
Candidates who are between 20- 28 years are eligible to apply towards the SBI Clerk positions. Age relaxations for the reserved categories and the Ex-servicemen are subject to the government guidelines.
Education Qualification
Graduates from any stream are eligible for SBI Clerk positions. Those who are in the final semester of their graduation degree may also apply provisionally if, they can produce proof of the graduation before the preferred date. Candidates can apply to only of the regions and they should have studied the local language of that region, either at senior school level(10th) or at the higher secondary level.

SBI Clerk Salary
The pay scale for the clerical cadre in SBI is 11765-655/3-13730-815/3-16175-980/4-20095-1145/7-28110- 2120/1- 30230-1310/1-31450. The starting Basic Pay is Rs. 13075/. (Rs. 11765/ plus two advance increments). After 3 years of service, the pay will increase to Rs. 13,730/-. Hereafter, there will be an annual increment of Rs. 815/- and so on. In metro cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkota, etc the gross starting Pay will be about Rs. 25000/ including the allowances like DA, HRA, and others. In all other places, the gross pay will be nearly Rs. 23000/ depending upon the place of posting as HRA varies.
