SBI PO 2022 Overall and Sectional Cutoff

Until 2018, Candidates had to clear overall as well as sectional cutoffs in order to qualify the SBI PO exam. There are various types of cutoff scores that the candidate needed to obtain to successfully clear the exam. Complete information about all the parameters is given below. The test paper is divided into several sections such as General Knowledge, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.

SBI used to set sectional cut-offs and the candidate needed to clear each cut off to qualify the competitive test. Also, clearing only the sectional cut-offs was not sufficient. The candidate had to also secure the overall cut-off declared by SBI. The SBI PO Overall Cut-off is different from the sectional cut-offs each year. However, this year, there is no provision of sectional cutoffs compared to the previous years.

SBI PO Cut off Evaluation

In order to calculate the actual cut-off figure, the exam conducting authorities analyze several variables. Depending on the category of the candidate, the cut-off scores will be varying. The factors influencing the cut-off marks are given below.

  • The number of candidates who appear for the exam will play an important role in deciding the SBI PO 2020 Cut-Off marks. It will also depend on the total number of posts available for recruitment purposes.
  • Question paper difficulty level will also be considered when calculating the cut-off score. It must be noted that the cut-off marks, once decided and announced by SBI, cannot be changed. The candidates will have no right to challenge the cut-off under any circumstance.
  • The process of normalization will be adopted for calculating the final cut off score of SBI PO 2020. The procedure for calculating the cut-off score is as shown below. The recruitment of candidates is done strictly on the basis of the merit list.
  • The SBI PO 2020 cut-off marks are normalized as the following formula:
  • Total Marks secured by last ranked candidate (Out 0f 100) = Written Test which will be Normalized to 75 + GD & Interview which will be Normalized to 25

SBI PO Stages of Cut off

SBI PO 2020 cut-off will be declared separately for various stages of the exam. The first round of the selection process is the preliminary exam. Cut-off marks are declared for this round which the candidates must obtain in order to move on to the mains round.

The second round will be the SBI PO Mains 2020. Again, cut-offs are declared separately for this stage also. To qualify for the post, the candidates must clear the cut-off score for mains as well. The final stage of the selection process will be the personal interview round.

For personal interview round also the cut-offs will be announced independently. Based on who manages to secure the cut-off for this stage, candidates will be finally selected for the post of SBI PO 2020.
