Annually RBI conducts Grade B exams for recruitment of Grade B officers in RBI. RBI Grade B exam is highly anticipated exam by aspiring candidates seeking a career in the financial sector. RBI offers an excellent pay scale and reputed job profile. The official notification of RBI Grade B 2020 exam is expected to release by the first week of May 2020. RBI is expected to recruit approximately 630 grade B officers. However, until the exam notification is released candidates can go through the 2019 Grade B examination details. RBI Grade B 2020 required Eligibility Criteria
Candidates before applying must ensure that he/she is eligible to apply for the post. The eligibility criteria set by RBI for the post of Grade B officer is as mentioned below. Following factors has to be satisfied by the candidates to be eligible to apply for the post.
Nationality-
The candidate must be either-
- a) a citizen of India or,
- b) a subject of Nepal, Bhutan or
- c) a Tibetian refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or,
- d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit-
RBI has set minimum age criteria for candidates appearing in RBI Grade B examination.
- The candidate must be of minimum age 21 years and must be 30 years of age on 1st September,2019.
- For candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification upper age limit will be 32 & 34 years.
- There is age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Educational Qualifications-
Below tabulated is the minimum educational qualification required by the candidates to apply for RBI Grade B examination-

· With a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years in PGDM/ MBA Finance from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; Or · Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. |

· A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years. Or,
· Master’s Degree in Mathematics with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institution. Or, · M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years. Or, · Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years. |
Number of Attempts:
- Candidates belonging to general category, who have already appeared six times for phase-I exam for this post previously are not eligible to apply.
- Above mentioned restrictions are not applied to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWSs , if the posts are reserved for them.

RBI Grade B 2020 how to apply online
RBI will soon release the notification for Grade B 2020 exam. In this article we will provide step by step guideline on how to apply for the exam.
- Login to the official website rbi.org.in .
- In the home page click on the tab “Opportunities @RBI” and then click on the tab “Current Vacancies and click on “Online Application Form.
- You will get a form. Enter your basic details and upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration in the online application form as specified.
- Now to register application, click on the tab “Click here for New Registration” and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id.
- A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Please note down these also you will receive Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password.
- Validate your details and Save your application by clicking the ‘Validate your details’ and ‘Save & Next’ button.
- Now you can proceed to fill other details in the form, upload Photo, Signature, left thumb impression and a hand-written declaration as per the guidelines for Scanning and Uploading of Documents given.
- Click on the ‘Preview’ Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before final submission. At the end of application candidate must Click on ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed with payment.
- After ensuring every detail given is correct Click on ‘Submit’ button.

Specifications required for scanning & uploading of documents
- Photograph must be a recent passport style light-coloured, preferably white background.
- If you have used flash to click the photo then make sure there is no red-eye.
- If you have worn glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes are clearly seen.
- Religious headgear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
- Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels is preferred.
- Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50 kb.
Guidelines for uploading signature, left thumb (LT) impression and handwriting declaration Image
- The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
- Applicant has to put his left thumb impression on a white paper with black or blue ink.
- Applicant must write the declaration in English on a white paper with black ink .
- Preferred Dimensions is 140 x 60 pixels.
- Size of file should be between 10 kb – 20 kb for signature and left thumb impression.
- For hand written declaration size of file should be 20 kb – 50 kb .
- For hand written declaration make sure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20 kb or 50 kb.
- Signature / Hand written declaration should not be in capital letters.if in capital letters then the application will be rejected .
Mode Of Payment :
- The payment for the application can be done only through online.
- By means of Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
- After successful completion of the transaction, an e-Receipt will be generated.
- Take print of the e-Receipt and online Application Form.
Application fee details:
- Application fee for SC/ST/PwBD is Rs.100/- only
- Application fee for GEN/OBC/EWSs is Rs:850/-only
Procedure for uploading the documents:
- For filling online application there will be separate links for uploading Photograph, signature, left thumb impression and hand-written declaration.
- Click on the appropriate link to upload photograph / signature / left thumb impression / hand written declaration respectively.
- Select the file to be uploaded from the system.Click the ‘Open/Upload’ tab for each document respectively.
- Check that the images are clear and have been uploaded correctly as specified. In case if the uploaded photograph or signature or left thumb impression or the hand- written declaration is not clear application will get rejected.
- Take print out of the application form.
