As the famous saying goes, If you fail to plan you are planning to fail. It is imperative, that every aspirant preparing for an exam has a study plan in place. It includes everything from schedule management, right study resources, attempting mock tests and previous year’s papers for greater productivity in the exam. With the SSC CHSL Exam around the corner, all those preparing for the exam should have an SSC CHSL Study Plan in place and should have already started with the preparation.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has earlier released exam dates for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exams. According to the SSC exam calendar, Tier 1 Exam is scheduled on May 2022. This is now postponed until further notice.
SSC CHSL Selection Procedure
SSC CHSL is conducted in three stages.
- Tier 1 Exam: Objective Test– Computer Based Written Test which consists of four sections
- Tier 2 Exam: Descriptive Test – Descriptive Test which asks Letter/ Application and Essay Writing
- Tier 3 Exam: Skill Test/Typing – which is qualifying in nature

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Syllabus
Tier 2 is a descriptive Test one is asked to write an essay and letter/application.
- Essay topics are usually any current social, political, economic or cultural issue.
- For letter/application writing, expect official topics. But it is always better to be aware of letter formats of all types.
NOTE: For descriptive paper, you just have to increase your writing skills and you can do it by daily practice.
SSC CHSL Syllabus For English Language Section
The English Language section consists of objective questions to test your knowledge of English vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension.
NOTE: If you want to score good in this section then strengthen your vocabulary as this is the most important thing which will help you in all exams and this will also increase your comprehension skill which helps you to solve para jumbles, antonyms, synonyms, paragraph, cloze test, rearrangement of sentences etc. Grammatical portions will also help you a lot.
